Pipe stiffeners are steel plates, rings or gussets welded to a pipe at supports, nozzles and high-load points. They prevent ovality, local buckling and wall distortion where the pipe rests on saddles, shoes or trunnions. Paired with foundation bolts, the stiffened support is anchored to its concrete base — a critical requirement in oil & gas, water and process piping where pipes carry heavy loads or thermal movement.
